Devices We Accept
Acceptance always depends on physical inspection - we cannot guarantee any device sight-unseen. Categories we currently consider:
- Windows laptops
- MacBooks
- Gaming laptops
- Chromebooks
Devices We Cannot Accept
We may reject devices that are:
- Stolen, or without proof of ownership where requested
- Subject to an active finance agreement
- Managed by MDM, school or business device management that cannot be removed
- Protected by an activation lock, BIOS password or an account that cannot be signed out
- Counterfeit, or have intentionally misrepresented specifications
- Unsafe to handle
- Outside the categories listed above
We do not request identity documents through the online form. Any ownership checks happen securely at handover.

Data Backup and Account Removal
Back up all important files and remove passwords and accounts before handing over your device.
Before sending or bringing in your device, please:
- Back up your files
- Sign out of iCloud, Google, Microsoft and any other accounts
- Remove activation locks and BIOS passwords
- Remove MDM, school or business management where you're authorised to
- Remove SIM cards and memory cards where applicable
- Perform an appropriate reset after backing up your data
- Bring the charger and any agreed accessories
Important Trade-In Conditions
- This is not a straight-swap service - approved value is credit only, towards a higher-value replacement.
- No cash is offered, and no unused credit is refunded or carried forward.
- Online valuations are provisional and confirmed only after physical inspection.
- You are responsible for packaging and sending your device to us. Pack it securely - ideally in its original box, or with plenty of bubble wrap or other protective material - and use a tracked and insured delivery service. Until the parcel reaches us it remains your carrier's responsibility, so please don't skip the tracking. - If you decline our final offer after we have inspected your device, we will return it to you. Return postage is charged to you, and we will confirm the exact cost with you before we send anything back - nothing is returned or charged without your agreement.

Is this a straight swap for another laptop?
No. Your approved trade-in value is used as partial credit towards a higher-value replacement device, and you always pay the remaining balance. We do not offer like-for-like exchanges or cash.
How is my trade-in value decided?
A member of our team manually reviews the details and photos you submit for a provisional valuation, then confirms the final value after physically inspecting the device - condition, faults, missing parts and account locks can all affect the final figure.
What if I don't accept the final offer?
You're never obliged to accept. You can decline a provisional or final offer at any point before completion - see our Trade-In Terms for what happens next.
Do I need an account to submit a request?
No, you can submit a trade-in request as a guest.
